About Mr. Goetz
I grew up in Arlington Heights, Illinois and in 8th grade I moved into the area and attended Dundee Middle School followed by Jacobs High School. Being a District 300 graduate makes me even more excited to begin my career where I recieved my high school diploma. After high school I attended Northern Illinois University for 4 years. I knew I wanted to go into physical education ever since Mr. Saldivar gave me the chance to become a PE leader in his class. When I received my bachelor's degree in physical education I then decided to further myself in education and complete the program for my health endorsement. I'm really looking forward to starting my career at Lake in the Hills elementary school and then in the future pursuing my masters.
Going through my program at NIU I always had the mindset to become a high school educator but when I completed my student teaching at Algonquin Lakes Elementary School I grew a deep passion for working with elementary students. Being able to work with the students when they're young and full of knowledge to retain, makes me that much more motivated to pass on to them 100% of my knowledge.
Not only am I focused on giving the students every bit of knowledge I have, I like to also make it a very fun and enjoyable learning environment. A lot of the time I enjoy participating with the students in the games we play to push them and give them more motivation during the class. I find that showing them that I love to be there, makes them more passionate about learning and participating!
When I'm away from the gym teaching, I love to go to the gym to work out!! Working out is a big part of my life, especially since I lost about 85 pounds 4 years ago. That is another big part of why I got into physical education! I enjoy any sport I come across and I am a HUGE Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan!! I also love to spend time with friends and family, family especially! Family is a big part of my life and I don't know where I would be without some of them, I owe a lot of my drive and success I have gained throughout the years to them.
Thank you for taking time to learn about me and I hope to see you around the gym!
